High-end 3D printer, resins and post-processing devices

For a true success of your resin 3D prints, a reliable 3D printer is just as crucial as quality materials and post-processing devices. That is why the Inkspire 2 is compatible with best-performing resins from world-leading manufacturers like BASF Forward AM and Henkel/Loctite. And once the printing is done, the parts can be post-processed using Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station: a professional post-processing ecosystem introduced along with the Inkspire 2.

Quality approved by top resin manufacturers

The Inkspire 2 is compatible with many advanced engineering resins, including those previously available only for DLP 3D printers. Zortrax is working with brands like Henkel/Loctite and BASF Forward AM to ensure properties of parts printed with their best-performing resins match or exceed values specified by the manufacturer. This conformity is guaranteed by a thorough, two-stage validation process, where 3D printed models were first tested in-house by Zortrax and then, independently, by the resin manufacturers who made the test prints on pre-production Inkspire 2 units sent to their laboratories. Test samples were post-processed using Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station which means the validation extends to the entire Zortrax resin 3D printing ecosystem.

Industrial-grade proprietary light engine

The light engine in the Inkspire 2 has been developed in-house from the ground up. Zortrax engineers designed an array of UV diodes backlighting a monochromatic screen to achieve uniform UV exposure of every single pixel on a large build platform while retaining utmost precision. Therefore, resin 3D models made on the Inkspire 2 have the same, outstanding quality, regardless of whether they are placed in the center or towards the edges of the build platform. Finally, this new light engine is seven times more powerful than a standard UV LCD screen, which makes Zortrax Inkspire 2 compatible with chosen DLP resins.

Clever automation

The Inkspire 2 makes the entire resin 3D printing process simple and clean through automation cleverly implemented in its key components. This makes working with photopolymer resins easier than ever.

Smart build platform
The build platform in Zortrax Inkspire 2 is designed to make tasks like removing resin 3D prints or getting rid of leftover resin easier. The platform is easily attachable and comes factory-calibrated to make the Inkspire 2 ready for work out of the box.
Resin management system
The Inkspire 2 3D printer recognizes how much resin is available in the vat and identifies the amount needed to complete the printing process. There are three separate components working together to make this system work.
Practical resin vat
The resin vat in the Inkspire 2 is made to solve real issues users have with operating resin 3D printers. It can be easily installed and detached. Curved corners make it easier to clean. An automatic wiper deals with sedimentation in more advanced resins. It is a simple design that works.
No failed 3D prints caused by blackouts
Zortrax Inkspire 2 has the same, tried and true, blackout response system that works in Zortrax M Series Plus 3D printers. At all times, the machines store enough energy to save the printing progress whenever a power outage occurs. Once the power is back on, 3D printing can be resumed from the same spot. No more failed prints, no more time lost, no more resin wasted.

Huge step forward

The Inkspire 2 3D printer builds upon the success of the original Inkspire and improves it in every possible way. The numbers tell the story of outstanding progress in Zortrax UV LCD printing solutions:

7x
more powerful UV light engine*
40%
more uniform UV light distribution*
4x

Ceramic-Filled Resin

Specialized, ceramic-filled resin belonging to the rigid line of BASF Forward AM’s 3D printing photopolymers. High content of ceramic particles makes the material desirable in the automotive, robotics, electronics, metallurgy, energy production and chemical industry.

Flexible scaffolding 3D printed with BASF Ultracur3D EL 4000 Flexible resin.

Elastomeric resins

The purpose of elastomeric resins is emulating various kinds of rubber. Such materials are commonly used for seals, gaskets, or hinges. They differ by the degree of elasticity, mechanical strength, and thermal properties to fit a wide range of engineering needs.

Engine connector 3D printed with BASF Ultracur3D RG 35 resin.

Rigid resins

The defining feature of these materials is high rigidity. Parts 3D printed with rigid resins do not give way under stress, retaining their shape to the point of breaking. They work best in structural frames, positioning jigs, or fixtures.

Bioreactor motor adapter 3D printed with Loctite 3843 HDT60 resin.

Tough resins

Tough resins can endure very high loads before they break. Compared to rigid materials, they give way a little bit sooner under stress but need higher force to reach the breaking point. As such, tough resins are usually used for mechanical components working under significant loads.

Cooling turbine 3D printed with BASF Ultracur3D RG 1100 resin.

High-temperature resins

High-temperature resins can withstand exposure to high temperatures without loosing their mechanical properties. Such materials are used to quickly 3D print molding-grade component or to fabricate parts operating in high-temperature environments.

Filigree jewelry investment patterns 3D printed with BlueCast X-One castable resin.

BlueCast castable resins

BlueCast castable resins belong to a range of specialized materials made for casting target parts out of metal alloys. They leave little to no ash residue after burnout and offer excellent dimensional accuracy necessary in the investment casting process.

Zortrax basic resins

Zortrax basic resins is a family of high-quality photopolymers with excellent price-to-quality ratio. All Zortax basic resins come with printing profiles throughly tested by Zortrax engineers and included in Z-SUITE software to achieve the best possible results with minimal effort.

Advanced post-processing ecosystem

Most professional resins require post-processing to achieve manufacturer's declared properties after the printing is done. Therefore, Zortrax has introduced Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station: two automatic post-processing devices that complement the Inkspire 2 UV LCD 3D printer in an advanced ecosystem. The purpose of Zortrax Cleaning Station is to remove uncured resin from the surfaces of models while Zortrax Curing Station provides UV curing to materials that need it.

Step 1 Printing
The model is made on the Inkspire 2 3D printer.
Step 2 Cleaning
Leftover resin is cleaned off the model's surfaces in the Zortrax Cleaning Station.
Step 3 Curing
Cleaned model is UV-cured in the Zortrax Curing Station.
Zortrax Cleaning Station
Zortrax Cleaning Station is a post-processing device removing excessive, unsolidified resin from the surfaces of models made on all types of photopolymer 3D printers. Cleaning should be done before UV curing and is necessary to preserve the model's dimensional accuracy.
Zortrax Curing Station
Zortrax Curing Station is a post-processing device providing additional UV curing of parts made in all resin 3D printing technologies. This additional curing is necessary for most resins to achieve their target mechanical properties.

Software

Z-SUITE is a slicing software that comes free with every Zortrax 3D printer. It is made to prepare digital models for 3D printing to achieve the best possible quality of printed parts in the shortest time.
