Zortrax Officially Partners Up with Henkel/Loctite

Zortrax, focused on constant improvement and delivering the best quality possible, is extending its 3D printing resins portfolio by cooperating with a top global brand: Henkel/Loctite.

“We engaged with Zortrax a few years ago when they decided to open their system to industrial focused materials and re-design their system towards the engineering and industrial users. It is worth mentioning that Zortrax focuses on, in addition to print performance, an integrated solution including post processing. They were taking a new approach, and we wanted to be a part of that process as a high-performance material provider,” says Maarten Adolf, Senior Business Development Manager – 3D printing Europe at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.

High Performance, Tough Engineering Resins

Developing the newest Inkspire 2 resin 3D printer, Zortrax engineering team, in collaboration with Henkel/Loctite specialists, has built thoroughly tested printing profile for each resin available. During the process, the samples were 3D printed and then post-processed using Zortrax Cleaning Station and Zortrax Curing Station at both Zortrax as well as Henkel laboratories. The teams tested the printing parameters and calibrated each resin in such a way to guarantee that all mechanical and thermal properties indicated in a specification were achieved.

“We have been working with the Inkspire 2 in our lab for several months and enjoying the full-system approach with the Cleaning and Curing Stations. New in this class is the automatic material feed, which prevents waste and mess. In addition, the quality of the resin in the printer is guaranteed by the automatic wipe system during the printing process. Loctite 3D resins print well on the platform and meet all of the properties we list on our technical data sheets,” Maarten Adolf underlines.

Henkel/Loctite 3D printing resins provide high quality and performance in a variety of engineering applications.

The selection of 3D printing photopolymers available in our portfolio currently includes: Zortrax Henkel Loctite Resin Pro 410Loctite 3D 3843 HDT60 and Loctite 3D 3172 HDT50 High Impact.

All of the above are Tough resins, which endure significant loads before they break. Hence, they are perfect for 3D printing mechanically strong, wear and tear resistant, load-bearing components.

“Henkel photopolymers, introduced in our offer, are characterized by high surface quality, high impact resistance and accuracy. They serve a wide array of engineering purposes, including 3D printing durable jigs and fixtures, housings and covers, and manufacturing aids,” summarizes Artur Chendoszko, Resin Technology Leader at Zortrax.
