3D Printed Jet Engine

3D printing allows you to significantly shorten the time of the designing, testing and developing stages. That’s mainly due to the possibility of making and improving prototypes in-house in a matter of hours with the use of everyday resources. This functional model of a jet engine was 3D printed on three Zortrax M200s in roughly 8 hours but the overall print time when using one 3D printer shouldn’t take more than 15 hours. The prototype was printed in Z-ABS in red, pure black and pure white. 3D printing allowed to obtain a fully functional jet engine model in just a few hours without the need to outsource. The technology is an efficient way of prototyping an object or a mechanical part for testing before starting a production line and enables reduction of costs. The video was filmed by 3D Proshare.
